Ideal candidate
A builder who blends deep control theory with hands-on bench validation and owns work end-to-end. You care about quiet, gentle, safe robots and measure before you tune to ship reliable hardware.
Requirements
- Design and tune field-oriented control with space-vector PWM and cascaded current, velocity and position loops
- Deliver torque and impedance control for backdrivable and compliant joints with verified torque accuracy
- Build motor parameter identification for Rs, Ld, Lq, flux linkage, inertia and friction
- Own encoder, Hall and resolver calibration and commutation offset procedures
- Reduce torque ripple and acoustic noise via cogging, ripple and friction compensation
- Maximize torque and speed on low-voltage bus with field weakening, MTPA and voltage-limit handling
- Define fault detection and safe torque-off for overcurrent, overvoltage, stall, overtemperature and sensor loss
- Familiarity with robot safety standards such as ISO 13482 and ISO 10218
- Sensorless control and observer design
