Highlights
- Bridge simulation to hardware for tendon-driven robotic hands on humanoid Apollo.
- Own sim-to-real pipeline ensuring control policies transfer zero-shot to hardware.
- Create accurate abstractions of complex tendon routing, friction and elasticity.
Ideal candidate
Autonomous senior roboticist who loves closing the reality gap for dexterous hands through hands-on testing and model refinement, partnering closely with controls and RL teams to ship robust hardware behavior.
Requirements
- 5+ years post-graduation experience in robotics, controls, or physical simulation
- Proven track record transferring RL-based control policies from simulation to hardware
- Deep hands-on experience with control and system identification of QDD actuators
- Strong foundation in rigid multi-body dynamics, kinematic calibration and inertial identification
- Experience characterizing friction, effort production and hardware-software discrepancies
- BS, MS or PhD in Robotics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or related field
