- Prototype in foam, print, and machined parts and test designs on real robots.
- Shape packaging, grips, and access panels people touch and use daily.
Ideal candidate
Industrial designer with 4+ years shipping complex hardware who loves building and testing on real robots. You obsess over form, CMF, and human details but know when to ship and thrive owning design end-to-end.
Requirements
- Strong portfolio of shipped physical products, ideally complex electromechanical hardware
- 4+ years shipping physical products such as consumer electronics, robotics, or medical devices
- Deep fundamentals in form, proportion, ergonomics, and CMF
- Proficiency in 3D modeling and surfacing (Alias, Rhino, SolidWorks) and rendering (KeyShot) with DFM/DFA experience
- Working knowledge of injection molding, sheet metal, die casting, and surface finishing
- Experience working directly with mechanical engineers and contract manufacturers iteratively
- Ability to go from sketch to prototype to production independently
- Experience with humanoid or legged robots, cobots, or electromechanical systems
- Bias for building, testing on hardware, and iterating quickly
