Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on payroll experience, ideally including multi-state US payroll
• Experience establishing and managing US state agency accounts (SUI, withholding) and troubleshooting agency mailings
• Strong working knowledge of California compliance: wage statements, meal/rest break premiums, final pay timing rules
• Hands-on experience with modern payroll/HRIS platform (Rippling preferred, Workday, ADP, Gusto or similar)
• Comfort with detailed reconciliation across benefits, 401(k) match, and payroll-to-GL tie-outs; strong Excel/Google Sheets skills
• Working knowledge of US payroll tax compliance (SUI, SIT, federal and state withholding)
• Familiarity with equity compensation payroll (RSU, NSO, ISO taxation) is a plus
• Excellent attention to detail and follow-through
• Clear communicator on payroll and benefits topics
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
